CONNAUGHT ROAD N4
& Interior Design
A typical terrace house in North London, Melissa White Architects were brought in to design and complete a side return and rear extension.
From an early stage of the design it was agreed that the use of plywood would be focus of the detail. The kitchen units are from a highstreet kitchen company with detailed bespoke plywood doors. The plywood continues as ‘fins’ that run above the kitchen to filter light and lead into a wall of storage.
The palette has a retro feel with burnt orange, dark blues and a concrete like floor. The seating area is held together with a wall of bespoke storage and a bench seating with hidden storage and a secret cat flap.
The result is an open, spacious, kitchen that brings the family together. Light filters in throughout the day from several different directions and whilst open plan the layout allows a variety of zones to hang out in.
