This three storey, five-bedroom period house in the heart of Belsize Park had a tired and damaged ground floor, requiring a complete refurbishment.

The front entrance was transformed into a light and welcoming space, taking inspiration from a traditional panel detail and applying a clean, modern aesthetic, with hidden storage and a built-in wardrobe.

Throughout the rest of the floor, Melissa designed a calm, elegant colour scheme based around warm blues and greys. Traditional details such as skirting, coping and fireplaces were re-introduced with a modern twist. Bespoke built in furniture was installed in all three rooms with layered levels of lighting and the main focus is the Bocci chandelier in the library.
